主要是通过句意,他父亲非常严格,所以在他成为顶尖学生之前没有表扬他,只有before是这个意思
after很明显时态不对；until和前面的never构成直到......才，意义不对；unless=if...not主句应用过去将来时，before在......之前，从句是一般过去时，主句的动作应发生在从句之前，也就是说应该用完成时态，符合题意
