  •   As for the etiquettes of greeting, American people like hugging; bowing is enjoyed by Japanese and Korean, and hand-shaking is only prefered in some particular ocassions。
Some African will make ringing sounds after their hand-shaking, symbolizing a wish for freedom。
But this gesture is not allowed for the Dutch unless they remain in a certain distance, let alone hug each other;and it cannot be done in any situation between Indian men and Indian women。

  • As for manners of greeting. Americans likes to hug. In Japan and Korea, generally when people meet others, they bow. Only in certain occasions would they shake hands. Some Africans, after they shake hands, they would snap their fingers. In Holland, they shake hands, but maintain a distance. Of course, they don't hug. In India, men and women would not even be allowed to shake hands.
